Crabtree goes at Frome .......................

Postby Danny West on Wed Sep 09, 2009 5:51 am

From Frome Town official website.

Frome Town Football Club have parted company with first team manager Andy Crabtree with immediate effect. The Club’s poor start to the season led to the dismissal of one of the Clubs longest serving bosses whose first game in charge was a 2-1 win over Corsham Town on the 1st October 2005 and in all competitions he was in charge of 195 first team matches.

The Club would like to place on record their sincerest thanks for the work, enthusiasm and commitment Andy has shown over the last four years and wish him well for the future.

Could this mean a return to management for a certain Mr Darren Perrin?

While I'm pleased to see Darren back in local football, you have to feel for Andy Crabtree. Nearly 200 games in charge at Frome over nearly 4 years, he takes them up, and then pays the price for a poor start in the first few weeks of the new season.

I'm sure he'd like to have had the chance to turn things around at Frome, but everyone's so impatient in football these days & so they've decided to bring in an experienced Southern League manager over an inexperienced one.

Hope Andy Crabtree bounces back somewhere.......
