England recover from Dutch defeat to beat Pakistan

Postby Dave S on Sun Jun 07, 2009 8:30 pm

Believe it or not, I listened to the last 3/4 of an hour's commentary of England v Pakistan on Talksport as I relaxed in the bath earlier (as you do) and it sounded like a great advert for cricket. Big crowd in the background making a lot of noise and a comfortable win for England in the end. Kevin Peterson doing the business as well (he's the one whose name I often forget!) and so well done to England.

The commentators said that they had bounced back well after the Holland defeat, even though Pakistan were poor on the night & they were also full of praise for the 20/20 tournament as well. As they should be! It is bringing cricket to a whole new audience.

Now can Holland do it again on Tuesday v Pakistan? I hope so. COME ON HOLLAND!

I don't know, Dave S talking about cricket - the world's gone mad, I tell 'ee! :D :D :D

Join me later on "DaveSTalk" when we discuss the European Parliamentary voting tonight, the fact that UK Gold (or G.O.L.D. as it is these days) have shown the brilliant "Only Fools & Horses" for about 12 hours non-stop today and we'll also look back at yesterday's 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings - if it wasn't for those veterans and many, many more like them, from Britain, the USA, Canada, France, New Zealand, Poland, Australia and many other nations, then we might not be here today sat in front of our PCs, posting messages on messageboards.........
