Forest Green Rovers

Postby Danny West on Fri Oct 23, 2009 8:03 am

Well according to todays BEP Forest Green Rovers could be missing up to eight players for our FA Cup 4th qualifying round tie. Even though we're obviously huge underdogs I can imagine FGR supporters may have a slightly uneasy feeling about tomorrow?

As with the match against Truro it's essential that we don't concede an early goal, do this, and with a good vocal backing and with the belief the players must have after the last two performances then who knows what could happen...........

Roll on tomorrow!!

The Mangos will have great vocal backing tomorrow (GG will poss be there too). I fancy the Mangos to do a number on FGR and make the first round proper for the first time. Then the prices can be bumped up and live TV cameras will be here to see us face Leeds United.

Rule nothing out, HOC, stranger things have happened!

Yes, FGR start as favourites tomorrow. They are a Conference side after all, with better skills & fitness levels etc, but they have also struggled in the Conference since time began. They are always down the bottom end, and they lose at home seemingly most of the time. I think - if they have all these players missing as has been reported - that they may be slightly wary of us tomorrow, but we must be honest, they are still favourites to go through.

As Stella said elsewhere, I remember Stalybridge Celtic beating us a few years ago too. They'd only had 1 win all season, or something like that, and were rock bottom of the Conference, but were still a class act against us. If we can play like we did against Truro, then we have a chance. Was Phil Bater the manager when Clevedon got through to Round 1 a few years ago? Something tells me he was. If so, then let history repeat itself tomorrow, or in the replay on Tuesday........

GOOD LUCK TO THE MIGHTY MANGOS TOMORROW!!!!! :D :D :D

Now is the hour. Destiny beckons for the Mighty Mangos. I, Viracocha will be with you in spirit and I will channel my thoughts towards victory, but alas, I have much to do in MP.
Bater is THE man - hewn from the blue and white.
Trust in him and trust in me

I am with you always :)

Like I said before, was it Phil Bater who took Clevedon to Round 1 v Chester a few years ago?? If so, maybe he IS the man to take us to the Promised Land & Tony Court could be the man to stop FGR from going to the Promised Land, like he did to the White Tigers last week.......

But let's hope Viracocha's mystic thoughts come true tomorrow! :D :D :D
