Mangotsfield Utd v Merthyr Tydfil

Postby Danny West on Wed Oct 28, 2009 7:20 am

A solid showing last night from a strong Mangotsfield side which were rewarded with a comfortable and well deserved victory.

From what I could gather this was a near full strength Merthyr Tydfil side which prior to the sending off of Simon Gregory late in the fist half were already second best. After the dismissal there was only ever going to be one winner.

Fair play to Phil Bater he made a few changes but the players who came in were all first team players, which would suggest he's taking the league cup fairly seriously.

It will be interesting to see who starts up top on Saturday as Daine O'Connor did himself no harm last night, Tooze also impressed out wide and looked a threat throughout. Mike Trought was once again outstanding, a class act!
