Yeltz fans push for an end to clubs problems.
The true extent of problems at Morrel Maison's Halesowen Town Football Club became clearer today. The club's debts, previously believed to be around £15,000 are more likely to be 16 times that figure. The club who currently play in the Zameretto Southern League are currently under a transfer embargo by the F.A. for outstanding payments to other clubs and ex players.
Gary Willetts, Vice Chairman of The Yeltz Trust, a supporters co-operative society set up in response to consistant problems during Maison's reign at the Old Hawne Lane club, has issued the following statement.
The Directors of The Yeltz Trust understand from information they have received that currently Halesowen Town Football Club Ltd, owes its creditors a sum in excess of £250,000.
Unless the club has the means to source a huge capital injection or the club has an alternative plan, it appears on paper to be in a situation where administration is the only viable option for the club. If that should happen the Yeltz Trust is committed to working with the administrators to secure a breathing space and allow plans to be put in place to ensure the future of football at the Grove for future seasons.
The Trust has secured the support of 51% of the shareholders and is prepared to take the club into administration if necessary.
