The posting below was taken from Cambridge City's forum and features the views of a certain Bob Smale..........................

Just to congratulate the Editorial team and contributors that we came 3rd in the BG SLP according to the Programme Collectables Magazine.

This is one of many awards which are dished out at this time of the year and we came 3rd behind Farnborough and the winners Banbury. Here is what was said :

Not an entirely easy task, although the top three were easily out on their own. My main problem was deciding if Banbury would hold on to their crown when pushed by the high gloss and high colour production from Farnborough and that of Cambridge City.

Although not scoring quite as highly as last season, Banbury's had so much content and knowing effort that has to put into ANY programme, then David Shadbolt and the team had worked hard on this. Both Farnborough and Cambridge City can feel proud of their efforts. i felt farnborough's was a little too pricey and on a personal note, I was not too keen on the slightly larger size but I gave the points accordingly.

Listing of top programmes is :

1. Banbury 362
2. Farnborough 318
3. CCFC 272
4. Gloucester 227
5. Mangotsfield 215

If anyone wants the copy I have of this Programme collectables magazine let me know .

I do not know if the BG SLP announce their own winner as the CS did last year, but if I hear of any other awards coming our way I will let you all know.
